No matter how old a person gets, there's a definite buzz that comes from being told that a job has been well done.

If you are three years old and your parents tell you how well you have done, you feel good and try to please them again; if your teacher tells you you did a brilliant essay then the next time you write for him or her you try even harder and it your boss tells you you've done a good job or made a brilliant effort then you do your very best next time.

We have always done the decorating in the house ourselves.
